Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
We live in the right house for this holiday, let me tell you. Sure, I talk about pink a lot, but there’s one color that shows up even more around here.
Somewhere I once heard that Native Americans had like 25 different words to describe the color “green.” A very quick and shallow Google search, however, did not back this fact up, and instead I found an article suggesting that Navajos actually had only one word that roughly included anything green OR blue.
Anyone care to look into that? No? Ok, then. I hope your day was filled with whatever shade of green makes you smile. My biggest smiles came from the few green blades of baby grass I spotted outside today!
P.S. R-girl just informed me that the Native Americans actually had 25 (or some high number of) different words for “snow,” not “green.” Details, details.
Also R-girl saw what I was doing today and asked if I was doing a green scavenger hunt. I think this must be a “hip blogger” term that I was not aware of. I mean, why, yes, R-girl, I was…!
