WARMING UP TO WINTER

R-kids and I spent a good chunk of today digging out.

Holy canoli, it took 10 minutes just to get myself out the front door. We were literally snowed in. Twelve inches holding the screen door shut—and more still falling.

Bundled up 1 | the both and | shorts and longsThank goodness the kids’ dad came and blew some of our snow out of the way. (Thankful!)

But then there was this.

Snow porch | the both and | shorts and longsI’ve never had to shovel the screen porch before but with the blizzard-ish wind today, this wispy snow came right through the screens. There were at least five inches out there!

…It’s now dark and we’ve got several more inches out there to shovel. But the snow is finally stopping and the temps are dropping. (To below zero!!) Sounds to me like a good night to snuggle up and stay in, dontcha think?

Popcorn, movie, hot tea, blankets, and a fireplace.

Ok, ok, our fakie doesn’t actually keep anyone warm. But if I had a real one, it would be lit! Maybe I’ll light some candles instead.

Here’s hoping you are all warm and cozy tonight.

Knowing not everyone is… And feeling thankful we are.

Winter is here…!
