Next up at R-house:
– A few more rounds of line-dancing over the sod seams to make sure those edges take root.
– A little extra landscaping to fill in the empty spots around the screen porch where I’ve been waiting and waiting for my peonies to thrive. I think it’s time to let that dream go.
– Some serious screen porch (paint, repair, and) love, desperately needed.

P.S. A couple of my most perceptive friends detected a tinge of ever-so-slight bitterness in my previous post about that Required Open House thing.

I wanted to follow up and say:

1. R-girl, you are worth it. Truly, truly, truly. TRULY. I welcome the chance to celebrate you. Right here at R-house. It’s going to be a blast.

2. I think I have been feeling a little overwhelmed.

3. If I’m not careful, I can get a little (I mean, just very slightly) bitter-ish when I am overwhelmed. Especially when I feel like I don’t have options. I know this about myself.

4. I also know (as I am constantly reminding R-kids) that there are almost always options.

5. So… options. Ok, well, I’m pretty sure this whole Open House thing is going to be one of those times when my best option involves those darned three things that can be so stinking uncomfortable for me. As in:
– Don’t be perfect. (i.e., Don’t even try.)
– Ask for help.
– Actually accept the help that’s offered by all the amazing friends and family who truly want to bless R-family.

And really. Why wouldn’t I??
