What’s that? Did I hear that Pantone has named Honeysuckle Pink the color of the year for 2011?

Yes, yes, I heard.

What do I think?

Well, first, let me say, they have great taste. Obviously.

Second, let’s all just calm down and remember that Pantone doesn’t really have a clue. After all, who out there would actually want to start buying things in this way-too-whimsical, overly enthusiastic color? I mean maybe some occasional earrings, or a party dress, sure.

But nothing like couches or anything.

I mean let’s not go making any life changes here, people. Just go ahead and stick with your aqua blues and kelly greens and retro oranges and what not. No worries. Me and my honeysuckle will get along just fine without you thankyouverymuch.

In fact, if you have a honeysuckle pink couch, I think this would be an excellent year to let it go. You don’t want to be all looking like everyone else or anything. You should probably start figuring out what next year’s color will be and work on finding a couch in that color. (P.S. Call me before Craigslisting it.)

Oh. And Pantone, next time you’re going to choose a color, try picking one that isn’t already taken by someone else. There’s only so many honeysuckle pink couches to go around. Thanks!
