Today was R-girl’s last softball tournament of the year. There have been quite a few. Quite. A. Few. So this is bittersweet. Perhaps a teeny, tiny bit more sweet than bitter…
The day started at 7:15 a.m. Ok, not for me. I will admit that super-mom that I am not, I skipped the first game. Slept right through it. But I was there for the other three—from noon until the last extra inning in the final games of the day, which ended at almost exactly 7:15 p.m. Yes, it was a long day, but there were several scores along the way.
WEATHER: SCORE
Yep that’s R-girl and yep she’s wearing a tank top. It was that warm.
EYE CANDY: SCORE
In between games, R-boy and I went for a drive. This is what we discovered just down the highway.
FRESH, LOCAL PRODUCE: SCORE
Yes, yes, yes! All of this abundance and—come on!—the killer-cute displays were all part of an amazing roadside produce stand that I wish was just down the highway from me! We stocked up on some fresh new takes on delicious, including some homemade caramel dip to go with the Honeycrisp apples. Yum.
NEW FRIENDS: SCORE
And here are some of the faces behind this beautiful surprise today. Carrie (in the middle) and her crew run this stand all year long. P.S. Carrie says the most fun part of the year for them is just starting, with lots of surprises to come. The more I read about Marshall’s Farm Market, the more I love it. We will be back, Carrie!!

HONEY STICKS: SCORE
Did I mention that R-boy’s favorite find was found at Marshall’s?
BOISE STATE: SCORE
Oh wait, that was last night.
VIKINGS: SCORE
Now if only the Twins had done the same…
R-SOFTBALL TEAM: SCORE!!
After sitting through one blow-out and two nail-biters…
After being down by three runs, with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the extra inning with bases loaded…
The winning running came in. And it was ours.
HUGE WINNING SMILE: SCORE
Seriously you just cannot beat this.
