Today, in a rather unexpected place, I read these words:
Despair is just another way of avoiding grief.
Interesting… Especially since despair is a word that has been sticking to me this week.
I’m going to have to think about that statement. I might agree. I also might choose a little despair now and then so I can have a break from the alternative. I seriously think despair would be easier.
I mean, some things are just so big, so messy, so sad, it’s hard to let the reality actually soak in. And it’s definitely hard to see hope.
Here’s to looking at reality. Or not. Whichever you can handle today.
