NITE NITE

Ok, so I’m a little slow sometimes. I mean, I invest money and time into food, nutrition, healthcare, mental health care, fitness (ok, not fitness, but I did once). I drink lots and lots of water. Lots. I buy organic when I can. I eat my greens. But when it comes to one of the most simple and necessary (and inexpensive!) things I can do for my body, I resist.

The truth is, most days I’d rather stay up late with you all, or fill some other creative craving into all hours of the night, when what I really, really need right now is sleep.

I think it’s finally sinking in. This has been a particularly exhausting chunk of my life.

I’m tired.

So, a few more naps have been sneaking into my daytimes (love those 20-minute power ones), and my evenings have been a bit shorter. Which has meant a little less blogging for me. I don’t love that trade-off, but it feels important, at least for a while.

But tonight, after savoring a couple sweet hours on the screen porch with the girls, I’m staying up a few minutes later just to say goodnight.

And to tell you about my latest blog-crush. I can’t stop tiptoeing through her mossy shed, and spying on her adorably eclectic livings. I’m so intrigued and feel suddenly so peaceful after my visit to her place. Plus her love of blankies and fabrics reminds me a little bit of someone I know

I’m crazy about your style, miss Dottie Angel, and I will dream I’m sleeping on pillows like yours tonight…

Nite, nite, all.
