So. Singing in the car.
Do you?
Why, yes, actually. I do. For sure.
And I hope to heaven I don’t look a thing like those four folks while doing it. Because the absolute dorkiness and glee that is captured in that candy-colored moment should not happen anywhere but a 1960s album cover.
But if it is going to happen on a 1960s album cover, that cover needs to be hanging in the living room at R-house.
Because, I mean:
– those lips!
– those eyebrows!
– that guitar!
Not to mention:
– the colors!
– the fonts!
– the complete and utter squareness of it!
And, even better:
– the fact that my first college internship was at…
wait for it…
Tenneco.
But who/what/where in the world is Tenneco, you ask, and why would anyone ever want to sing with them?
Great question. I can only answer the first part: Tenneco is a global manufacturer of automotive equipment located outside of Chicago, a 15-minute walk (or 2-minute mooched ride) from my college. Interning in their communications department was not nearly as exciting as my other internship (aka The White House – yes, that one. Read more here.), but I do remember soundly beating each and every adult at Tenneco Headquarters in an ongoing lunchtime Pictionary tournament.
So anyway, when I am sitting in my living room, this image makes me smile. Or literally lol.
And when I am singing in my car, this image makes me immediately take it down a notch. Or three.
