Wow, I haven’t been around here much lately! Partly because I’ve been spending so much time around here:
Catching R-boy’s shining moments.
Rooting for our team.
Living in a lawnchair.
Savoring any outdoor moment that doesn’t require three sweatshirts, two blankets, a winter coat, and possibly this view of the game. (Which was way, way, way too few moments this season.)
Hanging around exactly the right field. The one where R-boy is.
I’ll be honest. Sometimes I balk at whoever it is who decided these boys need to play baseball six (SIX!) days a week. I won’t pretend to be the mom who never, ever misses a game. And I’ll admit I’m sometimes the mom who yells the wrong cheer at the wrong time (ex/ A high fly ball over the left fielder’s head is apparently not the proper time to yell, “Run it out!” Can someone please pass me the vocabulary book?)
But the truth is: R-boy, I couldn’t be more proud. Way to be a team player. Way to make it into the Majors. Way to get to practice even when you didn’t want to. Way to be so smart about fielding and batting. Way to get on base today with two outs already on the board. Way to score the winning run!
Way to go!
For as long as this baseball field is where you love to be, I’ll be there too, cheering you on.
