I GOT TAGGED: CRAIGSLIST

pink chair reader | the both and | shorts and longs | julie rybarczykI know.

No really.

I do.

I know.

I know!

There’s a huge. overstuffed. hot-pink. chair sitting in R-house, and R-boy will not get out of it. It’s swallowing him and his book alive. If he ever does escape, R-girl is hovering for her chance to sink in.

And it’s HOT PINK.

I know.

But how? Why? What??? Calm down and let me talk people. So recently I have been keeping Craiglist up as one of my browser tabs all the time. Every couple hours I just refresh the page with my search of choice: “pink furniture.” I’m looking for that elusive pink couch ya know. Well today at about 2:38 I hit the search button, and this picture came up:

Price: $35

By 8:00 pm it was sitting in R-house, costing me a whopping $30. (I’m a ruthless bargainer, lol.)

So. What do you think?

I’ll be honest, I’m still working this one out. Here are the potential issues:
– This chair is about twice the size I thought it was. (That picture did not do it justice!) It’s taking up half my dining room right now.
– It’s not as vintage-y as I usually buy, and when I put the big pink thing in the living room, it was a bit like an awkwardly overgrown adolescent screaming, “Look at ME! It’s all about ME! Won’t somebody love ME?!”
– I’m wondering if it might be more comfortable in a living room that’s as big as my house.
– There is an odd brownish color in the swirls that in certain light looks like the chair might be worn or dirty, but the coloring is so consistent that it’s clearly got to be the pattern. Odd.

Then again, there’s this:
– It’s pink.
– HOT pink.
– R-kids are already fighting over it. Suddenly no other chair is good enough for reading or lounging.
– I happened to just recently put a very skinny table into my dining room, so I actually have room for this.
– It’s to-die-for comfortable.
– It’s pink.

Ok, people, I want to hear from you. What do you think? Does it work? Keep it there? Try it in my bedroom? Let R-girl have a shot at it in her pink room? (R-boy will not like that.) Move on?

I can handle the truth. Let me have it!
