I HEART MY NEIGHBORHOOD

hot pot | the both and | shorts and longs | julie rybarczykWhen I tell you what showed up on my doorstep this evening – just in time for dinner – you might be kinda jealous that you don’t live next door.

Sorry. (And there are a couple houses for sale… you better check out Reali!)

First, it was Neighbor Janet, the amazing woman who lives next door and who, several years back, lived pieces of my same story. Like, for example, the raising two kids as a single mom and running around town like a crazy woman from music lesson to drama production to sporting event and back again part. A couple other parts, too.

Anyway, apparently she noticed on this blog that I happened to mention I don’t cook.

So do you know what showed up with her on my doorstep this evening?

A fresh batch of that absolutely to-die-for Jamie Oliver English Hot Pot that Heather made us for Easter. Seriously! Neighbor Janet made it for us! Out of the blue! Just to bless us! (And, because she says cooking for one is no fun.)

AND it had no garlic in it. Janet didn’t even know I can’t eat garlic. Ok, come on people. Do we still believe in coincidences?

Janet, you are amazing. If you aren’t a neighbor, I don’t know what is.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
