It might be almost over for this year,
but I’ve savored every moment.
Like listening to Pa read the Christmas story
while we each place the appropriate characters into the manger scene
one by one
as he mentions them…
and soaking up
lots and lots
of Grandma love…
and wearing the Santa hat
when we open our gifts…
and, especially, that once-a-year flavor of
unbridled excitement
that overcomes the kids
of every age.
I hope you got more than your fair share.
