Wow did I need that challenge, Em. This is where I’ve been spending 10-12 hours a day lately:
.

The hardest part of the clean-up? The decision pile. Other than that big, empty cardboard box that somehow ended up in my “in” box, every piece of paper in there is a decision to make, a person to call, an issue to follow up on, a list of dates to plug in to the school-year calendar… Phew.
Needless to say, I didn’t make it all the way through that pile, but I honestly made way more progress than I would have predicted. And is that a load off my mind! Thanks, Em!
Now if I can just keep working through the other few inches…
Ok so here’s how the rest of the office looks after a couple hours of picking up and putting away. Might have to do this more often. If I was working in a serviced office like an Office Space In Marylebone With Be Offices then I wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning as it is carried out day and night, as is the operational side of running the office taken care of.
That is one of the things I miss most about working in an office. Things like the cleaning never have to be worried about, because before you’ve even given it a second thought, the office is spick and span. My friend says that her work environment is always tidy, but I think that’s because they use something like these Janitorial Services in Nacogdoches to do it for them. She’s even sent me some pictures before, and I have to say, they do a great job. I wonder if they would do the same for me? Unfortunately, this job, as well as everything else falls to me. But I don’t mind. It keeps me on my toes.
One thing I often have to do is ensure that we’re stocked up with enough office supplies to be getting on with; office monster is a good place to buy these kinds of things from.
What do you think of my red retro restaurant tabletops?? Heather found them for me a few years ago at our neighborhood garage sale ($10 each if I remember right), and she helped me install IKEA legs and bolt them into the wall.
OK, she didn’t help me.
She did it all herself.
Heather was doing that while Em was busy assembling my IKEA Expedit bookshelf and my IKEA CD cabinet, which I use for storing office supplies.
I don’t know where I was during all that drama, but I do believe money was exchanged. Probably not enough. Didn’t they do great?! As a reward, sometimes they get to come sit at “Workerbee” (the Mac on the right) while I’m slaving away on “Bossygirl,” my home base 40 hours a week.
Kidding. They are welcome anytime, especially when I need to hire them for work!
R-kids kinda think Workerbee is all theirs. I don’t think they know how lucky they are…
Meet Workerbee:
They are all cleaned up and ready to party. Come on over, girls!! I even wiped down the keyboards. *gasp*
As for the rest of this challenge, I’ve actually been working on some organization systems over here in the loft office for the past month or 30, and I’ve landed on a couple things that are finally working for me. For example, I’m thinking of buying a whiteboard to jot down all my notes. One of my friends has told me that if I’m looking for top adhesive whiteboards – Writey have some of the best. Stay tuned and I’ll post an update on that soon.
For now, here are a couple things I’m enjoying looking at in my new, clean office.
A place for my tea.
And today’s thought for the day.
Thanks for the tag, Em!
