At 12:13 pm, I hit send on a project I’ve been slaving away at for two weeks. I’ve got 30+ hours into it so far, and more to come. But all I can do now is wait to hear back from my clients.
What to do, what to do?
My eyes wander away from the piles and lists screaming for attention {Pick me! Pick me!} to the shelf above my desk. Annnnnd, my brain shifts out of focus.
Does that fan say, “Gilbert?”
Hmmmm. Gilbert. Seriously do people name their boys that anymore? I don’t know any Gilberts. Do I? I’ll Google it….. Ahhh, yes! I do! What’s Eating Gilbert Grape! Oh my gosh I have never forgotten that movie. Well except for just now, but whatever. It was amazing, I know that. Wait. What?! That was Leo and Johnny?? Both in one movie? And, WOW. So young. Ok, that I don’t remember. Oh I really want to see that movie again. I wonder if it’s appropriate for kids? You can’t trust those old PG ratings you know, I’ve learned that the hard way (hello, Goonies, I’m talking to you.) Hey, I bet there’s a clip on YouTube! I’ll check it out….
Oh yes, so good.
I bet this movie had some great quotes. I mean, in addition to that preying mantis line at the end of that trailer.
Mmhmm. Just as I suspected…
Becky: I love the sky. It’s so limitless.
Gilbert: It is big. It’s very big.
Becky: Big doesn’t even sum it up, right? That word big is so small.
Annnnnnd… cut.
Wait.
Where am I?
