Have you ever had a day when you can literally feel your heart bleeding…

bleeding hearts 2 | the both and | shorts and longs | julie rybarczyk…but you’re not sure why?

It could be from an old wound.
Or a new one.
Or a new layer of an old one.

Could be that time of the month.
Or that time of the year.
Or that time of life.

Maybe you’re sick.
Or tired?

Is it something you’re eating?
Or something you’re not?
Is it brain chemicals?
Or lack thereof?

Or some toxic mixture of it all?

Me too.

A wise person recently reminded me
that when something hurts,
the first important thing
is not to figure out why.

Or even to fix it.

The first important thing
is to soothe it.

How very beautifully expressed and pictured with your lovely bleeding heart plant that I almost was jealous of….as so many of mine have died through the years….but I did discover my newly planted one from last year is actually thriving….and it has made me think of you every time I look at it….and then I came to your words this morning….wow! You bring soothing to me….may it soothe the beautiful you ever so well!
